These terms govern your use of this website and your engagement of Krav Maga Shield Orlando's training services. By using this site or booking a session, you agree to them.

Who we are

Krav Maga Shield Orlando is operated by Jason Mertin, a sole proprietor providing in-home, studio, and virtual Krav Maga, self-defense, and kickboxing training in Central Florida (Seminole, Orange, Lake, and Volusia counties), with virtual and travel-based options available on request.

Physical risk and assumption of risk

Krav Maga, self-defense training, and kickboxing are physical activities that carry an inherent risk of injury, including from striking, grappling, falls, and simulated stress drills. By participating, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Before your first session, you will be asked to review and sign a separate liability waiver and assumption-of-risk form, which governs the training relationship in more detail than this page.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and training is not a substitute for consulting a physician. If you have a medical condition, injury, or concern that could affect your ability to train safely, talk to your doctor before beginning, and tell your instructor before every session.

Not legal advice on the use of force

This training teaches physical self-defense technique. Nothing on this site or in a session is legal advice about when force may lawfully be used to defend yourself or others — those laws vary by state and situation. You are responsible for understanding the law that applies to you.

No outcome guarantee

Self-defense outcomes are inherently situational and depend on many factors outside our control. We do not and cannot guarantee that any technique or training program will prevent injury or produce a specific result in a real-world situation. Training results in general (fitness, skill retention) also vary by individual and depend on consistent practice.

Booking, pricing, and payment

Session and package pricing is confirmed during your free consultation based on your goals, schedule, and group size. Payment is accepted via Zelle, PayPal, or Venmo. We do not collect or store your card or bank account information on this site.

The text, photos, and design of this website belong to Jason Mertin / Krav Maga Shield Orlando unless otherwise noted, and may not be copied or reused without permission. The Krav Maga Shield emblem is used to identify our affiliation with and certification through Krav Maga Shield International.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jason Mertin / Krav Maga Shield Orlando is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under Florida law, and it does not replace the separate liability waiver you sign before training.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
